His Faithfulness, A Shield.

His Faithfulness, A Shield.

Written by Maddie Joy Fischer

“He will cover you with his pinions, and under his wings you will find refuge; his faithfulness is a shield and buckler.” Psalm 91:4

One common need and desire of every person is the desire to feel safe and secure.

One of my favorite promises in scripture is the promise of Jesus’ faithfulness as a shield. Faithfulness is the quality of being loyal and steadfast. The unfailing faithfulness of Jesus is a theme woven all throughout Scripture from Genesis to Revelation.

Jesus is unchanging in nature.  He is consistent in all of His attributes and He can be trusted with our every need and desire. It is not in His nature to fail us or fall short and this has and will continue to be proven through generations.

He is a loving Father.

He is a good Shepherd.

He is a loyal friend.

He is a faithful provider.

He is a close Comforter.

He is a kind Counselor.

We are secure in the promise of Jesus’ faithfulness. This is a hope we have to hold onto in every season and circumstance of our lives. On our best day, He is faithful. On our worst day, He is faithful. In the waiting and every day in between, He is faithful. His faithfulness is a covering over each of our lives.

When people fail, He never will. When those whose trust falls short, He will always come through on His promises. His truth is a safe place to land. You are safe putting your trust in Him. All that He does is good. All of His promises are true. He can only ever be faithful.

You are covered by His steadfast love. His goodness is your portion as a son or daughter. You are secure in the truth and promises of HIs word. You are never alone because He is near. Find refuge in the shadow of His wings. Trusting Him will never lead to disappointment. Bring Him every fear, care, and concern. He will handle them with the most intentional care.

He continues to fulfill the promise of His faithfulness to a thousand generations through your life and story! What an amazing reality.

“For the word of the Lord is upright, and all his work is done in faithfulness.” Psalm 33:4
