It's Blooming Season

“Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, the new creation has come: The old has gone, the new is here!” 2 Corinthians 5:17
I love how Jesus has woven the evidence of His hand at work all throughout creation. Seasons are such a good example of this reality. As we celebrated Resurrection Sunday this past weekend, I couldn’t help but notice the signs of new life all around. So much is blooming and growing. Spring is here, and with it, a reminder of this promise:
He makes all things new.
The price that was paid with Jesus’ life made a way for a relationship with Him where sin once separated us. By His stripes, we are healed. By His blood, we are made clean and washed white as snow. As the easter holiday has come and gone, remain in awareness of this precious gift. Nearness to Him is our lifeline, and it was made possible through His sacrifice.
When we come to Jesus, we step into the promise of redemption. The past is forgiven and our lives are restored. We are not defined by decisions we have made, experiences we have lived, or regrets that we carry. What was once lost is found. What was once broken is healed. The hopeless are filled with hope. The bound are free. The dead come alive! The finished work of the cross provides our new identity in Christ as His sons and daughters.
This new life and identity is freely given, but an active choice to accept and walk in it has to be made. This happens by submitting our lives to the truth of His word and living it out. Our hearts and minds must be open to being continually transformed into His image and likeness. The best thing you and I can become is more like Jesus.
He turns hearts of stone into hearts of flesh. He gives eternal perspective where there was once earthly perspective. He refines us and rids us of selfish motives and fleshly desires. Instead, He gives Kingdom purpose. Those who are made new in Christ are marked by His Spirit and display the fruit of the Spirit. Because we have been given grace, we extend grace. Most importantly, we share the love that we have been transformed by.
Let this spring season be a reminder to you of the new life you have in Christ! Reflect continually on the price that has been paid for your freedom. You are not who you once were, you are a new creation in Jesus. Don’t dwell on the old, welcome the new!
In every season, He is faithful!
Happy blooming season.
