Song of the Week: Worship Song About Slowing Down š©·
What does Selah mean? This worship song explores Psalm 55:6 and reminds us to slow down, give our burdens to God and rest in Him.
This week's song invites us to slow down and intentionally sit in the Lord's presence. Selah is a Hebrew word, primarily found in the Book of Psalms. It is used in a musical term that signifies pausing, reflecting, and praising. When we use the word Selah, it invites us to pause and reflect on what weāve read and how it relates to us, and to think about the importance of the next verse.
This is one of my favorite songs. If I am ever feeling drained, overwhelmed, or like I am carrying too much, I will put my phone on āDo Not Disturbā and simply sit in the presence of the Lord with this song playing in the background. In those quiet moments, I always feel grateful for everything Jesus has done in my life. When I feel like I am not good enough, He reminds me that I was created in His image and that I am fully known and deeply loved. When Iām weary from carrying heavy burdens, He gently reminds me that I was never meant to carry them alone. Throughout scripture, we are invited again and again to give our worries to Him, trusting that He will sustain us.
6 "Cast your cares on the Lord and he will sustain you; he will never let the righteous be shaken." Psalm 55:6
If you have ever felt like this, I encourage you to put this song on and just sit. Thank Him for all that you have, for the prayers He has answered, and for the work He is still doing in your life. Rest knowing that you are enough in His eyes. You don't have to be someone you aren't or worry about what the future holds because you have the security that no matter what, you are NOT alone.
Our āThank You, Jesusā pullover in this beautiful spring-ready yellow is a simple, daily reminder to walk in gratitude. Everything we have is a reflection of our Fatherās goodness and unfailing love.
