New Morning, New Mercies

“The steadfast love of the Lord never ceases; his mercies never come to an end; they are new every morning; great is your faithfulness.” Lamentations‬ ‭3‬:‭22‬-‭23‬ ‭

Each day we face brings many things. Some are better than others. No matter what the day holds, Lamentations 3 reminds us that God’s mercies every morning are as sure as the rising of the sun. He is loving, compassionate, and forgiving.

Live in the light of Jesus’ amazing love for you. His love is unconditional and unending. It’s not based upon who you are or what you do, but who He is and the simple fact that you are His. In Jesus’ eyes, you are not defined by your successes or failures, but as a child in whom He deeply delights. On your best and worst day, you are covered by His love.

Jesus doesn’t give us what we deserve. Instead, He bestows mercy on us according to His unconditional love. He is compassionate and kind. He is slow to anger and quick to forgive. When you wake up each morning, reflect on and receive His mercies, which are new! Walk in the forgiveness and freedom He lavishes upon you.

The promise of the Father’s faithfulness is a safe place to land. There is nothing that happens in your life that surprises Him or is outside of His control. His ways are good, His promises are true, and His plans will prevail. Continually consider this. Let it bring peace and comfort to your heart and mind as you go about each day.

Let the rising of the sun each morning remind you of these promises…

Jesus’ love is unconditional. His mercies are new every morning, and He provides enough for a lifetime. His faithfulness cannot fail. Your failures, flaws, or imperfections will never be greater than the extent of His mercy and lovingkindness. A bad day doesn’t change these truths. A difficult season doesn’t change them either. His mercy is still new. His love is still constant. His faithfulness is still sure.

Whatever today brings, receive His mercy. Rest in His love. Trust His faithfulness. You don’t have to carry yesterday’s failures into today, because God has already provided new mercy for this morning.

Thank Him for His mercy!

“Know therefore that the LORD your God is God; he is the faithful God, keeping his covenant of love to a thousand generations of those who love him and keep his commandments.” Deuteronomy 7:9
