Song of the Week: A Worship Song about Declaring Confidence in God's Word

God's word is more reliable than our feelings, fears or circumstances. In Him, death was defeated and victory is secured.

The heart behind this song is declaring confidence in God's word. When God speaks, His promises are certain and final. There is no wiggle room or changing His mind. If it is His will, it will be done. When God says something will happen, it will happen.

Rather than asking God to act, this song responds in faith and says "Amen" to what He has declared.

Isaiah 55:11 "So shall my word be that goes out from my mouth; it shall not return to me empty, but it shall accomplish that which I purpose, and shall succeed in the thing for which I sent."

This song declares "finality of God's word." In other words, if God has spoken something, nothing can overturn it, and we can trust Him completely.

"When the King speaks a word
It cannot be overturned
It's as good as done

And when Heaven touches earth
It can never be reversed
It's the Kingdom come

So get the liars out the way
They don't have the final say
There is only One

Sovereign and Supreme
Every word He speaks
Is Holy

The Lamb of God has overcome
My testimony is His blood
And if He said that it is done
It is done
So be it God"

The lyrics point to God's victory through Jesus, His authority over every circumstance and our confidence in His promises.

Confidence is not found in ourselves but in Jesus. The cross is the proof of God's love and Jesus' resurrection is proof of God's power. Because Jesus overcame sin and death, we can declare with confidence the truth of God's word.

Jesus said in John 16:33,

"I have said these things to you, that in me you may have peace. In the world you will have tribulation. But take heart; I have overcome the world."

Jesus does not promise a life free of trouble. He promises His peace in the middle of trouble. Trouble is temporary. God is eternal.

Faith is choosing to believe that God's truth is greater than what we see, feel or fear. Faith is declaring that even when hope is lost and facing the future seems impossible, God's promises are steady and unchanging.

No matter what we face, we can stand with confidence. We can declare, "If God has spoken it, He will see it through." Christ has won. Victory is our hope. His Word is forever. His promises never fail.

So be it, God. Amen.
