Song Of The Week: A Worship Song About Praising Before the Breakthrough
There are two things in this life that I am certain of. First, this life was never meant to be easy. I know there will be troubles and heartache, but I also know that God is still good, and He is working all things for good.
Knowing that God is working all things for good is a promise that has helped me through the hardest of times. When I am going through a tough season or just feeling down given my circumstances, I find comfort in the promise Romans 8:28 tells me.
"And we know that for those who love God all things work together for good, for those who are called according to his purpose." Romans 8:28
This verse doesn't say that everything all the time is going to be good. We are actually told all throughout Scripture that we are going to face adversity and trials.
Romans 8:28 is a promise that no matter what circumstance we find ourselves in, whether it is battling a disease, dealing with the loss of a loved one or even just going through a heartbreak, God is working all things for good. Because we are His, we praise Him even before the breakthrough.
And that is the theme behind this week's Song of the Week: praising God even before the breakthrough.
Praising God before the breakthrough doesn't mean pretending everything is good. It means trusting Him even when everything isn't good. We may not understand what He is doing, if our prayers will get answered or why He is allowing us to walk through these hard times, but we can rest in the truth Romans 8:28 provides.
We can trust that He is faithful and deserves our praise even when it's hard. Our praise doesn't have to wait until everything is good or prayers have been answered. We can praise Him right where we are and stand firm on the promise that He is still working all things for our good, because He is good.
Good things are coming!
