Song of the Week: A Worship Song That Points Hearts Back to Jesus

Have you ever listened to a song that resonates so deeply in your heart that you want to share it with everyone you know? This is one of those songs.

This song is one of the best ways to start a conversation about Jesus. Personally, I find myself struggling to find ways to bring Jesus and my faith up in a conversation, especially when I know the person I am with doesn't truly know Jesus. I don't want to come across as pushy or insufferable. I just genuinely want them to know Jesus. I know I am called to tell them about Jesus and witness to them. For me, music is a way to bring Jesus up.

You are called to spend your life sharing the good news.

"And he said to them, "Go into all the world and proclaim the gospel to the to the whole creation ." Mark 16:15

Spreading the good news is not a responsibility reserved for certain people. It is a responsibility for everyone who has received Jesus' grace and understands the sacrifice He gave for us. You are instructed to go into the world and proclaim the gospel.

In Acts 1:8, we are told to witness to the end of the earth because we have received the power of the Holy Spirit within us when we accept Jesus as our Lord and Savior. "But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth." Acts 1:8

One of my favorite parts of this song is the simple yet powerful reminder

"And this is the good news
If you're breathing, it's for you
An empty grave, a life that's changed
It all points to Jesus name
If you've been searching
And nothing's been working
I've got good news
Jesus loves you"

The lyrics begin with a truth we often forget: "If you're breathing, it's for you." The message of Jesus is not limited by your past mistakes, your circumstances, or how far from God you may feel. If you are alive today, God's grace is available. His love is still for you.

Jesus didn't stay in the grave. His resurrection changed everything. Because He conquered sin and death, we can have forgiveness, freedom and new life in Him.

What I love most is how the song ends: "I've got good news, Jesus loves you." Sometimes I make sharing my faith more complicated than it needs to be. I constantly worry about having all the answers or saying the right thing, but I have to trust that the Holy Spirit is working in me and guiding my words. At its core, the Gospel is simply that Jesus loves you. He came for you, died for you, and defeated the grave for you.

As believers, we have the privilege of carrying this good news into our workplaces, schools, neighborhoods and everyday conversations. The world is full of people searching for hope, purpose, peace and belonging. Many have tried everything else and still come up empty. What they need is Jesus.

The good news is a message that needs to be shared. Share the good news.
