Why We Pray Over Every Order
Here at Dear Heart, every package that leaves our warehouse has something in common. Before the package is sealed, it is prayed over from start to finish.
Whether it is a single retail order, a wholesale order headed to a boutique close to you, or hundreds of shipments making their way to Buc-ee's locations across the states, every box and package is prayed over. To others, it may seem like a small detail or a waste of time, but to us, it is one of the most important parts of our day.
We have always believed that we aren't simply making apparel or jewelry. We are sending reminders of God's truth. We are sending reminders into homes, workplaces, schools, churches and communities all across the country. Every item we create carries a Scripture or a message that is rooted in His Word, and it is a testament to our faith. Our pieces are created in the hope that they point hearts back to Jesus and are conversation starters. Once our products leave our warehouse, they become a part of someone else's story, and what a blessing that is.
We rarely know where an order is going beyond the shipping address. We don't know if the person receiving the package is celebrating answered prayers, walking through a hard season or is simply in need of a reminder that they are seen and loved by God, even when the world is against them.
That is why we pray.
We pray that this order does exactly what it was intended for. We pray that every person who receives it is reminded of God's love. We pray that it brings hope when hope seems lost. We pray that each person's heart is pointed back to the Lord and that they know they have a purpose in this life. We pray that these products start conversations about Jesus and encourage others to live out their faith in a bold way.
Our prayers don't stop with our retail customers.
When we pack wholesale orders, we pray over the boutique owner, the employees who unpack the boxes and the customers who buy our products. We pray that their business seeks to honor God and every item sold continues to spread the gospel.
The same is true for our Buc-ee's orders. While we may never meet the people browsing those shelves, God already knows each one of them. We pray that someone would stop, pick up a shirt, read the message and be reminded of His faithfulness exactly when they need it most.
We know that a shirt cannot change a heart. Only Jesus can do that.
Throughout Scripture, God used ordinary people and ordinary moments to reveal His faithfulness and His love. If He can use those things, He can certainly use a T-shirt, a necklace or a sticker to plant a seed of hope in someone's life.
Praying over every order is our reminder that this business has never been about selling products. It has always been about serving people and glorifying God.
Long before a package arrives on a doorstep or a customer walks out of a store with one of our products, we've already asked the Lord to go before it.
And that's something we'll never stop doing.
